Ossi is a kind of hut, a beginning of shelter built of three ‘ribs’ made of clay, white but still pinkish after firing. They stand by their weight on rough iron supports. They could be ribs of a sea creature, a medium-sized cetacean. There is a close relationship, not only metaphorical, between clay and the elements of living creatures. These forms were born from the void, shaped with extreme skill by the potter and then personally retouched, finally propped up by hand so as not to break the structure. A metaphor of vulnerable shelter, difficult to build, but where imagination can find protection and safety.
